Performance of the month - April
The winner of the award for April was Mademoiselle, trained by Paul Gregson and owned by Julie Makin and Christopher Maughan.
Winning for the third time in just 5 starts the youngster led early and powered clear, outclassing a good A3 field in an exceptional time of 27.83 seconds.
The October 2010 whelp looks to have a very bright future and was a very worthy winner. Other fine efforts in the month Of April came from her litter brother Play The Game who similarly won an A3 by a wide margin and by Brian Thompson’s Glideaway Hi who won a terrific Saturday night finale in a race where 5 dogs were neck and neck down the straight.
BAGS/SIS Easter Bunny
On Good Friday afternoon, Belle Vue has three representatives in the finals at Swindon. They are Judys Bloom, The Big I Am and Swift Leah. May we wish the best of luck to owners and trainers and hope that our runners bring home the (Wiltshire) Bacon !
Owners Passes 2012/13
Owners Passes are currently being issued. They will be available for collection from the turnstile area on race-nights from 7pm. Owners will be required to present photographic evidence (e.g. Drivers Licence, Passport) to obtain the new pass. Passes will only be issued to those owners with greyhounds presently on the racing strength.
Belle Vue Performance of the Month - March 2012
The accolade has been awarded to Droopys Ramires for his performance in winning his first top grade contest on the 10th March.
Bought at Perry Barr sales just under a year ago, Droopys Ramires is one of the most consistent and genuine dogs at the track and his victory on the 10th March showed his qualities off perfectly.
Able to corner in 3rd behind Carrowkeal Rory and Rei Doms Best, Ramires fought hard to maintain his position down the backstraight before powering past first Rei Doms Best and then on the run for home Carrowkeal Rory. Other fine performances in March came from Daves Di-Silva, Swift Leah and Bootle Minie, all of which would have been deserving winners of the award but congratulations go to trainer Michael Barber and owners Kieron Crosswaite and Paul Taylor.
Greyhound Auction at Belle Vue Stadium
On Sunday the 10th of June, Belle Vue Stadium is hosting an auction of potentially top class Irish puppies.
A trial session featuring every lot will start at 11am with the auction itself scheduled for 1pm.
We encourage everyone to come in the knowledge that there will be bargains aplenty!
Sales Catalogues will be available seven days prior from the Racing Department. Full catering facilities will be provided and we look forward to seeing you there.
Tuesday Trials
Our weekly afternoon trial meetings will continue to take place on Tuesdays until further notice.
Belle Vue Performance Of The Month Award
Since the introduction of this honour back in April 2011, we have seen some excellent performances from classy greyhounds, many of which were rightfully and formally recognised with the Belle Vue Performance Of The Month Award.
The most notable winners being Sandyhill Champ, our inaugural winner when he obliterated his rivals in a time of 27.60 seconds (+10), and the prolific Wellfield Poppy who owes her connections nothing at all. For 2012, we hope to see plenty more of those great runs as GRA Ltd continues to back the award created by Bob Rowe and run by the Belle Vue Racing Office.
Performnace of the Month - February 2012
The winner of the award for February was Boherna Hill owned by Mr Anthony Rhodes and Mrs Jeanette Woodhead and trained by Joy Andrews.
Boherna Hill may be the most consistent runner on the track and already has notched 5 victories this year, 3 of these came in February.
The best performance of his three wins came on the 9th February where he passed early pacer Miss Penelope at the 3rd bend and was able to repel strong finishers Jayjay Wonga and Burgess Eagle showing a fine combination of speed and stamina.
Performance of the Month - January 2012
The first recipient of the award for 2012 is LIVELY MANDAN. She produced not one but two performances worthy of the accolade being bestowed upon her.
On the 14th, she won an A2 in impressive fashion when sprinting away from her rivals at the start and never looked back to win by five and three quarter lengths.
LIVELY MANDAN was then turned out just five days later and starting at 8/1, gallantly ran on to win an A1 race in heavy going from Efceeunited. It was the latter of those two runs that is officially recognised as the winning performance.

Performance of the Month - December 2011
The winner of the December award is "OWLETT BUSTER", following his most noteworthy comeback victory of the 10th December, after a long lay off.
Congratulations to owners Go On My Son Syndicate and trainer Darren Hampson.
Performance of the Month - November 2011
The winner of the November award is "Ballyhill Becky" for her excellent performance on the 23rd, when she was successful in a BAGS inter-track race.
Congratulations to owner Mrs J.Ord-Jenkins, trainer Brian Thompson and his staff.
Performance of the Month - October 2011
“BURGESS EAGLE” has been awarded the October prize, following his sparkling performance when taking a top class staying race on the 8th October.
Congratulations to owners Eddie Smith, Graham Coxon and trainer Andy Heyes.
Other notable efforts during this month came from ‘Paddy The Black’, ‘Devious Rumble’ and ‘Telmarcs Swift
