Welfare of the dogs at
Manchester Greyhound Stadium

The greyhounds have enjoyed racing week in and week out... they have trained and given everything to the cheers of the crowd. They have provided us with great entertainment and excitement , and when they come to the end of their racing career it is our turn to help the retired greyhounds to find a loving home.

Welfare & Retirement

The Lancashire and Belle Vue Retired Greyhound Trust

It is the role of The Retired Greyhound Trust (RGT) who help to find greyhounds a caring home.
Many thousands of families love the greyhounds for their gentle and affectionate nature. Greyhounds are wonderful companions and they are fantastic with children. Greyhounds love to be lazy and need just two 20-minute walks a day and are natural couch potatoes.

Around 9000 greyhounds retire from racing every year all of whom need to be loved and cared for and require a home.

The Lancashire and Belle Vue RGT team are very active organising numerous fund-raising events throughout the year. If you would like to help, either in fund-raising or home checking, or providing a caring home please go to the website for retired greyhounds – www.lancashirergt.com or call 07970 312 183.

If you can help, give a greyhound a home.  They make fantastic pets

The Great British Greyhound Walk 2011 - 26th June Breacon Park

 The Great British Greyhound Walkers

We had a fantastic day at the Great British Greyhound walk 2011 in Beacon park, Up Holland.

We had 58 greyhounds on the actual walk but many more came to the event after the walk had finished as some were not up to it. We caught up with Beckhams Major (doing very well!), Judicial Audit (beautiful photos taken with him and the 2 small children who love him to bits! Rosa.

The little 3 yr old felt unwell a few days before and when she came home she ran straight past her dad and said Jude I feel poorly, curled up next to him and went to sleep for 2 hours!!! – He didn’t move from her side!).

Thornfield Darma was in fine voice!! Yanks Loser was looking great, Bodell King was supporting his rered and loving it jacket (he’s great!) and there was so many more – High View Leader, Reggies Mariner, American Angel, Peemac Ted, Drumena Teddy – the list goes on
